IRS Form 8863, Education Credits

If you're interested in claiming the Hope Scholarship Credit or Lifetime Learning Credit, you will have to complete this IRS Form 8863, Education Credits, and attach it to your income tax return. Note that you may not, in the same year, claim this credit and also claim a deduction for tuition and fees (Form 8917) for the same student.
